Special Needs Riding at the Sam Houston Equestrian Center
At the Sam Houston Equestrian Center, no one is denied a chance to ride. With over a dozen horses and ponies accustomed to working with special needs riders, the staff has introduced horseback riding to deaf-blind clients from Lighthouse of Houston, autistic students from the Sean Ashley House, and many individuals who are differently-abled (physically, mentally, and/or emotionally). Some start with a pony ride, a short ten-minute evaluation. Some eventually learn to guide and control a horse on their own. There is never an agenda or a time-table. Riding should be as enjoyable as a spending time with a good friend.
Lessons are by appointment. Visit our website at www.LearnHorse.com.
