On our website is a complete list of the COVID-19 related polices for Summer Camp 2020 at Camp Allen. These were created based on the guidelines published by the CDC, Texas State Department of Health and the Episcopal Diocese of Texas. Rather than summarizing these policies, we have included them in full detail so that families of campers have a complete understanding of how Camp Allen plans to keep campers safe this summer.
While this is a different summer for everyone across the world, we can assure you that camp will be full of the same joy that children have been experiencing with us since 1921. We can’t wait to see you at Camp Allen!
Camp Allen is a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas and has been a vibrant, successful camping program for 99 years. We are located in the heart of the Texas Piney woods on 1,100 acres just one hour northwest of Houston. Every summer 1,900 campers drive through our gates and experience a life changing week full of laughter, excitement and fellowship.
Weekly sessions are led by a priest or youth minister dedicated to enriching the lives of young people. These Session Directors are assisted by an energetic staff that is passionate about leadership through service and is devoted to being an attentive caretaker for each of our campers. Campers will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities, such as: horseback riding, archery, nature hikes, swimming, canoeing, Blobbing, The Chute water slide, arts & crafts, environmental education , high and low challenge course, basketball, disc golf, a dance and more!
Camp Allen operates within the framework of four core values: Spiritual Growth, Positive Identity, Safety, and Fun. These values are a representation of who we are and why, as a summer camp, we exist. We strive to provide a unique environment for young people to cultivate friendships, experience personal growth, and learn about the unconditional love of Jesus Christ.
