Looking for a fun way to keep your child learning this summer? WITS camps provide exciting, interactive writing classes that awaken students to the adventures of language. Young writers will combine storytelling and game design, using platforms such as Gamestar Mechanic, to create original video games or make high-tech art in these innovative multimedia camps.
Game Camp (Grades 3-6) Students will combine creative writing with game-based technologies, bridging the writing process with that of game design. Campers will use their poems and stories as the foundation for designing original games, improving their writing and creative problem solving skills.
Wired Words (Grades 6-8) In this hands-on multimedia camp, students will work with a professional writer to create digital writing projects drawn from and inspired by their own words. Students will explore creative writing genres in online and multimedia formats, translating their writing into digital forms such as blogs and Tumblrs.
