Did you know that more than two-thirds of the reading achievement gap in 9th grade can be traced back to cumulative summer learning loss during the elementary years? CYCLE is a nonprofit organization committed to improving literacy among children in grades K-3 in Title I schools throughout the Greater Houston area. This summer CYCLE will launch its inaugural Summer LiteraCYCLE Challenge to address the issue of young learners losing critical reading skills during the summer months.
In an effort to help young students have FUN while maintaining their academic progress during the summer, CYCLE will launch the challenge on June 1st and it will run through August 31st. Incorporating activities like reading a new book, reading a book a month and visiting Little Free Libraries across the Houston area, students will have the opportunity to enter the challenge and win fun prizes like family tickets to Dig World, Color Factory and more!
Visit Cycle on June 1st for more information.
