Camp Allen is a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas and has been a vibrant, successful camping program for 96 years. We are located in the heart of the Texas Piney woods on 1,100 beautiful acres just one hour northwest of Houston. Every summer 1,900 campers drive through our gates and experience a life changing week full of laughter, excitement, and fellowship.
Each weekly session is led by a priest or youth minister dedicated to enriching the lives of young people. These Session Directors are assisted by an energetic staff that is passionate about leadership through service and is devoted to being an attentive caretaker for each of our campers. Every camper will have the opportunity to participate in many different activities, such as: horseback riding, archery, nature hikes, swimming, canoeing, Blobbing, The Chute water slide, arts & crafts, environmental education, Bedlam (messy games), high and low challenge course, basketball, disc golf, a rockin’ dance, and more!
Camp Allen operates within the framework of four core values: Spiritual Growth, Positive Identity, Safety, and Fun. These values are a representation of who we are and why, as a summer camp, we exist. We strive to provide a unique environment for young people to cultivate friendships, experience personal growth, and learn about the unconditional love of Jesus Christ.
