Try these summer treats

Whether you’re hosting a party or attending as a guest, you may have some planned 4th of July celebrations taking place this coming weekend, here are a few great summer treats that can take holiday celebrations to the next level from TheSoul Publishing.

Homemade Sorbet

For an easy DIY treat option, try this sorbet! Simply add frozen raspberries, honey, and lemon juice into a blender. Blend until contents are mixed into a thick consistency and place into the freezer. Once the sorbet has hardened, scoop it out and place it into a serving dish. Top with blueberries and whipped cream to give it a festive 4th of July look!

Gummi Bear Ice Pops

This quick and easy frozen treat is perfect for backyard summer parties. All you’ll need is gummi bears, soda or juice of your choosing, and an ice pop molding. Simply add the gummi bears into the mold and top with soda or juice. Place into the freezer overnight, and the next morning you will have tasty homemade ice pops! For a 4th of July flare, add red, white, and blue gummi bears!

Healthy “Cake”

Fresh fruit is a favorite at many summer celebrations. If you’re looking for a healthy treat alternative, this “fruit cake” is for you. Using varying sizes of circle cut outs, create a three-tiered cake look using watermelon as your base. On each tier, add your favorite fruits as decoration to your watermelon “cake.” If desired, top with cool whip or whipped cream and you’re all set!
