Our Journey to Explore the World on Royal Caribbean began in the Port of Galveston on a beautiful fall day…….

Rolling up to the beautiful new Royal Caribbean terminal, we were a little trepidatious. Normally, checking onto a cruise line is a little daunting. Between finding parking, hopping on the shuttle and getting to the terminal, you normally have to plan for extra time needed to make all that happen. However, we were pleasantly suprised by the fact that there is parking right in front of the terminal! What a time saver.

From there, the conveniences just kept coming. Check -in was a breeze as we effortlessly passed through the beautiful new terminal and were greeted with pleasantries the entire way. Once aboard, we dropped off our bags in our room and were off to explore the ship.

I cannot aptly describe the feeling of relaxation that comes over you when you board. Knowing that you are sequestered away from the every day world on a vessel built strictly for your entertainment and amusement! For busy folks whose every day life tends to be a little stressful, this was a welcome respite! Here’s what we enjoyed.

  • Thrills – From a nine-story-high zip line to two FlowRider surf simulators, the thrills run the gamut in neighborhoods like the Pool & Sports Zone and Boardwalk. Adventurers and their families can conquer twin rock climbing walls, ice skating, mini-golf and the Sports Court.

  • Ways to Chill – It’s always high time for a good time with many pools and whirlpools, including the adults-only Solarium. There’s also the one and only Central Park neighborhood, an open-air oasis with real plants, paths to wander and places to grab a bite and a drink, plus more.

  • A World of Flavors – More than 30 restaurants, bars and lounges are on tap. Favorites include family-style Italian classics at Giovanni’s Table, American steakhouse Chops Grille, fresh sushi and sizzling hibachi at Izumi, Mexican at Sabor, the Vintages wine bar, Starbucks, and more.

  • Show-stopping Entertainment – The full-scale productions on board span air, ice, water and theater. From high diving and slack lining feats in AquaTheater to the Studio B ice skating venue and even the award-winning “Mamma Mia!”, it’s entertainment that takes dinner and a show to the next level. (We got to see Kelsea Ballerini!)

Whatever destination you choose, for however long a cruise you take, one thing is for certain. Your time on the ship will be AMAZING!
