Help Main Street Theater Needs Your Help!

The Problem:

We have to vacate our Chelsea Market theater (where, for the last 18 years, our Theater for Youth has performed, where we have held numerous classes and camps for kids, and where we have done many MainStage shows over the years) by the end of August 2014, almost a year earlier than we expected! We’re already planning to move into the all-new MATCH Houston in mid-2015 and had hoped to use the Chelsea Market theater for another full season – but the landlord, who recently sold off most of the parking lot there for a high-rise development, has cancelled our month-to-month lease.

The Solution:

We will be moving our 2014-2015 Theater for Youth season to the beautiful Talento Bilingüe de Houston (TBH) theater in downtown Houston! And there’s lots of free parking!!!

Why We Need Your Help:

We are raising money to defray the costs of moving our Theater for Youth theater and offices to TBH. We don’t want these unexpected expenses to affect our production budgets or staffing! We need to pay for:

• A moving crew to completely strip the theater of its fixtures (lighting, chairs, props, etc.) and pack up our belongings

• Truck rental

• Storage unit rental

• Moving phones, internet and office equipment to TBH

• Set-up of new office at TBH

• Temporary signage/marketing materials to explain the move
