On the heels of our Stressed to Impress feature (March 2013), which uncovered the detrimental and sometimes debilitating effects of standardized testing (and other academic pressures) on students, third-grade teachers at Katy Independent School District’s Stanley Elementary banded (literally) to create a video aimed at cutting the pressure of STAAR Tests.
“I’m Gonna Pass This Test” is a fantastic display of sensitivity, caring and creativity by teachers, who themselves are burdened to teach to the test. Rather than bow to the unchangeable, these educators embraced their talents to fight fire with levity. Their students must be proud. And this video’s going viral.
