I’m not saying you should eat a Krispy Kreme doughnut (ever) instead of a salad, yogurt, deli sandwich or probably whatever else you were going to eat for lunch today but I am saying you might be surprised to learn just how much sugar is in food items that you probably consume on a daily basis or thought were “healthy.”
Mother Jones made a list of 9 items you wouldn’t hesitate to pick over one of those doughnuts and how much sugar they shockingly contain. Again, it’s not endorsing Krispy Kreme and not telling you skip Subway or pass on a glass of OJ, it’s just a fun way of letting you know that you should check the labels and realize how much sugar you are consuming. Also keep in mind this is just a sugar comparison and does not take into account the nutritional value that many of the other items have.
I forgot to mention that 10 Krispy Kreme stores will be opening in Houston over the next 5 years!
