DIY: Make your own Baby Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy

Fans of the movie (IMO the best movie of the Summer) Guardians of the Galaxy are paying up to a $1,000 for Sony Walkmans like the one that Starlord had in the movie. They are paying hundreds for old comic books featuring Rocket Raccoon and even up to $100 for cassette mixtapes that would have included songs like “I’m Not in Love” and “Come and Get Your Love.”  The one thing that is in the most demand from fans, just happens to be something that the marketing people at Marvel failed to create – a Baby Groot!  The scene stealing baby tree is the main reason why I had to take my kids to see the film a 2nd time and it’s the reason why people are going as far as creating their own DIY Baby Groot.

I’ve seen lots of attempts but nobody has done a better job at making the characater than Durandal Cosplay

I made this using a “Movin’ & Groovin'” flower I got from eBay, cut off the dumb daisy, and covered the stem on felt and twine. My fiancee sculpted the head from Model Magic. We then painted everything with brown and tan paint. He can now dance to Peter Quill’s “Awesome Mix”…or to my own mix.

You can view step-by-step instructions on how to make it by visiting his FB page.  But you have to buy one of these first.
