HFM: What is your favorite part of the day with your kids?
ES: I love my mornings at home with Eden, watching her play with all of her toys (uninterrupted!) and then I love to pick Alex up from school and go to the museum. I try to give as much one on one time as I can.
HFM: You stay home with the kids. Tell us about a typical afternoon at your house.
ES: Afternoon is tough for me because Alex doesn’t nap anymore but Eden does. We do a lot of outdoor activities in the back yard. Bubbles, sprinkler, watering the plants, riding bikes etc until dinner. This also tires them out! And by sticking around the house, I can let Eden nap. Afternoons are also a good time for a play date with friends.
HFM: Any advice for a new stay at home mom?
ES: Advice for a new stay at home mom would be to not try and schedule so much. As new moms we have this compelling desire to do as much as we can in a day but sometimes the best days are when nothing is on the agenda. It’s ok if you stay in your pajamas and read books and make cookies. Or, grab the camera and head to the park for an impromptu photo shoot. Those make for the best pictures!
HFM: Favorite “go-to” meal for the family?
ES: Black bean and vegetable tacos with homemade guacamole and rice.
