Allison Parker is a “boy mom” with four rowdy guys keeping her busy!
Name: Allison Parker
Occupation: SAHM & Health and Fitness Coach
Kids: Xander (11), Zachary (8), Deacon (4), & Jace (1)
HFM: Tell us about your family:
AP: Our family is made up of 5 boys and 1 girl, me. Living life among a house full of boys is quite entertaining. We spend a lot of time together and visiting family in west Texas. God is a HUGE part of our everyday life as well as football and guitars.
HFM: What is it like being a mom of 4 boys?
AP: BUSY
HFM: Your littlest just started a Mother’s Day Out program, so how does it feel having the house all quiet for a few hours at least?
AP: School just started and I have only had 2 days with no kids in the house for a while. The hours have flown by because my to-do list is so long. My goal is to eventually sit for an hour with a cup of coffee and a good book and relax for a moment. I am just not there yet.
How do you juggle working at home and having to take care of the boys? I am still trying to figure this out. I wake up early. I stay up late. I work during nap time. I need to learn a better balance. It’ll come ☺
HFM: What is your favorite family outing?
AP: We all love the beach. There is something for everyone there. If we are talking about a local outing, anything outdoors is best. Boys like to explore and fish and run around. I enjoy it too—although when it comes to fishing I’ll hold the pole but let them bait the hook.
HFM: How do you guys make a blended family work? What advice would you give to someone else living in a blended family situation?
AP: I don’t really view our family as a blended family. We are one big family of 6 and occasionally there are only 4 of us. For other “blended” families: always have the children’s best interest at heart. Hold your tongue and just be sensitive to the feelings of everyone involved. Flexibility is a great thing.
