The arrival of spring means something different to everyone. For some, it may symbolize restlessness as they impatiently wait for the snow to melt, and the flowers to bloom. For others, it represents a new beginning and attitude about our daily life.
Spring signifies “new life” and as I see the gorgeous wild flowers blossom, Mother Nature reminds me to stop and focus on the beauty of life and ask myself if my priorities are intact. We all lose sight of our goals at times, but if we use this beautiful time of year as our chance to better ourselves as a person, even in the smallest ways, we might surprise ourselves with a brand new attitude. Take advantage of the weather by going on walks and adventures! The best memories are made when we get off our couch and break our usual routine, so don’t be afraid of change. Change is what this time of year is all about, so it’s time that we hopped on board with Mother Nature and did the same!
This time of year also reminds me of friendships and family. The flowers bloom because they are sprinkled with rainwater. Without this element, their color fades and the roots and leaves crumble and die. Our lives are busy and with a generation of advanced technology, we find ourselves multitasking to a point that we can’t remember the last time we “watered” our friends and family. I think of family and friends as my root. My roots are strong and allow me to grow leaves and blossom. This might sound a little cheesy but this is honestly the most important elements in our journey of life.
Forget about social media for a while and call a friend, mom, dad, brother or sister. Tell them how important they are and how much you love them. Head out for a Mother/Daughter day and instead of going shopping, go for a picnic and really connect by having great conversation. Some of the best times with my mom have been listening to her stories of when she was a teen and how they relate to today’s girls. THIS is what strengthens our roots and allows us to blossom.
I am truly looking forward to reevaluating my goals and strengthening my roots as I prepare to buckle down this year! I encourage you all to try to outdo yourself from the year before. I can’t wait to see how I inspire others, change lives, and continue to make a difference!
Spring!! It’s life blossoming all around us. ~
