The Houston Food Bank serves an 18-county area, and 11 of those counties were declared disaster counties following Hurricane Harvey. In those 11 counties served by the Houston Food Bank, more than 400,000 recipients are children. And while rebuilding around our area gives most of us a sense of recovery after Hurricane Harvey, thousands of families are still in need of help. Distribution levels are still running higher than the food bank anticipated, and gifts of money, time and food are still needed.
Below are just a couple of the volunteer opportunities for ages 6 & up. There are more for ages 13 and 16 & up. Take a look on their website www.houstonfoodbank.org or call the volunteer services hotline at 713-547-8604
