Just in time for fall fashion, we want to take this opportunity to introduce Houston’s own, Kristina Haag, the founder behind the clothing line Cotidie’. If you haven’t heard of the line, that’s ok, you will. Founded just last year, this young entrepreneur is just getting started!

HFM recently met up with her at her photoshoot for her new Autumn/Winter line. It was a privilege to see her visions come to life. Get to know Kristina.

Tell us a little bit about yourself – where were you born (I know it says Houston, but what part of town did you grow up in), where did you go to school?

I was born and raised in Houston. I grew up in Spring and attended Concordia Lutheran High School. I received my undergraduate degree from Rice University and completed a master’s degree in Fashion Marketing from the British School of Fashion in London.

You are really young to have your own clothing line, what drove you into fashion? Is it something you’ve always been passionate about?

Yes, I’ve always been passionate about fashion but I never dreamed I would have my own clothing line! Identifying a gap in the marketplace for fashionable and functional clothing really drove me to pursue this path. I consider myself more of an entrepreneur rather than a fashion designer.

What is the favorite part of your job? What is your least favorite?

The most rewarding part of creating Cotidié is watching people wear my clothing and feel confident and comfortable. I love providing women with fashionable, functional and professional garments they can wear all day, every day.

The clothes are beautifully simple and translate well into a variety of social situations, but my favorite part is the fabric. Tell me more about the fabrics. I’ve never felt anything like them before.

Cotidié uses athletic technical fabrics to really move with you, and we really pride ourselves on this key differentiator. LunAir is our flowiest fabric, it’s very breathable and light; SolaSmooth is an ultra-light jersey fabric that feels barely-there; StellaForm is our most elastic fabric, creating a more nolvadex-tamoxifen.net.

I feel like your line would work well for women trying to create a capsule wardrobe. Is that the premise?

Yes, our garments are intended to transcend everyday settings and seasons. With each new collection, we will incorporate new styles and colors, but overall our intention is to create timeless pieces you can mix, match and layer. We hold each collection to a Cotidié standard, meaning all pieces are comfortable, provide stretch, use moisture wicking fabrics and are machine washable.

I love the Launch collection because it is so versatile. When does your fall/winter collection come out?

Our Autumn/Winter collection will be released online in early October.

Right now your pieces are available online. Are there any plans for a storefront or expansion in the near future?

Right now, we are focused on developing our online presence, but we are definitely open to pop ups or a storefront in the future.

Tell us a fun fact about you. Favorite food, movie, travel spot?

I used to be a competitive figure skater, and I was on my high school and college dance teams.

Favorite food: forever and always will be mac & cheese

Favorite movie: Coraline

Favorite travel spot: Mykonos, Greece (I’ve been twice and can’t wait to go back again!)
