Summer Fun in Beaver Creek

As a top travel destination, Beaver Creek, Colorado, is a magical place for families. But it’s much more than just a ski town and in summer it brings the adventure! Activities range from alpine-focused day camps for young explorers to scenic chairlift rides, 50 miles of mountain bike and 62 miles of hiking trails, 4×4 tours, horseback riding from Beaver Creek Stables, fly-fishing, golfing, tennis, live music, a mix of fine dining and casual culinary experiences as well as family-friendly festivals. And in the Beaver Creek Village Base Area, kids can enjoy the Bungee Trampoline, Gem Panning, Climbing Wall and Miniature Golf.

Just for Kids

  • Hawks Nest Cabin recently opened in the heart of Beaver Creek Village. This space was designed to entertain pre-teens and teenagers day to night. The underage club has a modern alpine-cabin vibe and offers craft non-alcoholic beverages, a dance floor, a ski simulator, arcade and table games and lounge spots that offer cool backdrops for selfies.
  • Beaver Creek Kids Day Camps offer fun in the mountains with outdoor adventures designed specifically to explore, educate and entertain campers of all ages all summer long. Kids Day Camp run weekdays June 10 – August 30 for children ages 5 – 12. Participants explore the wonders of Beaver Creek and the Rocky Mountains in a fun-filled, kid-centered environment. Activities include white water rafting, zip line tours, gondola rides, dinosaur fossil hunting, adventure parks, rock climbing, horseback riding, and Jeep touring.Parents can drop off campers for a day or a full week to experience outdoor adventures.
  • The Eager Beaver Adventure Company Scavenger Hunt provides hours of fun entertainment for the youngest family members.

One-of-a-kind Family Dining

  • An experience that is uniquely Beaver Creek and kid approved is a guided horseback ride through iconic Aspen groves to one of Colorado’s top restaurants, Beano’s Cabin, for an unforgettable five-course meal. Beano’s is just one of over 20 exceptional culinary opportunities guests can enjoy this summer.
  • Beaver Creek offers three Michelin guide recommended restaurants, Mirabelle, Splendido and WYLD for those wanting to elevate their dining experience while still enjoying family time (Mirabelle owner and Master Chef Daniel Joly encourages family dining and loves talking to youngsters about their favorite dishes).

Family-Friendly Events 

  • The Beaver Creek Independence Day Celebration will feature live music, a kids area, food trucks, and a mountain-shaking fireworks display. A Rock the Day VIP experience will provide access to an indoor/outdoor lounge with prime viewing of the main stage, parking, a gourmet picnic dinner and complementary beer and wine throughout the day.
  • During Oktoberfest, Aug. 30 – Sept. 1, Beaver Creek reveals the resort’s authentic spirit and European roots during three days of food, drinks and live music with daily headline acts.
  • BC Unplugged is a free concert series in the Beaver Creek Village every Thursday night – 5:30 -7 p.m. The summer lineup features A Flock of Seagulls, Asia and others.
  • New this year is the Colorado Showcase, every Saturday from June 15-Sept. 14. Colorado Showcase will feature some of Colorado’s best and brightest artists in the heart of Beaver Creek Village. Unlike BC Unplugged, this music series will shine light on incredible local artists from across Colorado.

All summer long, Beaver Creek offers recreational activities and fun events that can easily fill a long weekend or an extended stay. And the long-standing tradition of warm chocolate-chip cookies served daily at 3 p.m. is a fun and delicious experience for all ages!
