1. Find Your Fitness Motivation

2. Make Smoothies

Getting the whole family to consume raw leafy greens and fresh fruit isn’t always easy, but that’s where smoothies come in. Smoothies make quick and easy breakfasts or midday snacks, and most importantly, they give you the opportunity to pack in a variety of fruits, veggies, healthy fats, and proteins. 3. Head Outdoors

Amidst the pandemic, many of us have been cooped up indoors like never before. And while staying inside our homes certainly protects us from the coronavirus, it harms our health and well-being in other ways. Fortunately, it’s possible to safely head outside as a family during the pandemic. Here are some safe outdoor activities to consider:

  • Picnicking, camping, or stargazing in your own backyard.
  • Jumping rope, hula-hooping, or playing frisbee.
  • Outdoor workouts for the whole family.

4. De-Stress and Unwind

Many of us are experiencing stress, anxiety, and other mental health concerns amidst COVID-19 — including our children. And while things like exercise and healthy eating are crucial during this challenging time, it’s just as important that we care for our mental health and make time for self-care activities such as mindful meditation, deep body breathing, and other relaxation techniques.

5. Use a Habit-Tracking App

To help your family stay on track to looking and feeling as healthy and happy as possible, try using a habit-tracking mobile app. Leon Ho of Lifehack recommends 22 apps for smartphones, including Momentum Habit Tracker, Habitica, and Productive Habit Tracker. Physical charts and bullet journals would also work if you’re trying to rely less on your smartphone.

By habit tracking as a family, you’ll kick bad habits together and replace them with healthier ones, like swapping that sugar-filled bowl of cereal with a nutrient-packed breakfast smoothie. Several other healthy yet manageable habits to adopt as a family include:

  • Drinking more water.
  • Getting to bed by 10 p.m.
  • Reading for 20 minutes a day.
  • Doing jumping jacks during television commercial breaks.
  • Practicing gratitude at the diner table.
