Destination Rodeo!

Ready for a mini vacay right here in Houston? Enjoy Texas’ best tradition, and visit the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo with your family, March 1 – 20, 2016, for an affordable price, starting at $10.

Known as the world’s largest livestock show and most innovative rodeo, this event has something for the entire family to enjoy, including interactive exhibits, carnival rides, shopping, dining, horse shows, elite rodeo action and nightly concerts from the top musical acts in the country.

Families with adventurous children will enjoy the Kids Country area next to the Carnival, presented by NOV. This designated children’s area offers camel rides, kids pedal tractor pull, mutton bustin’, a petting zoo, pig races, and pony rides.

Entertainment also can be found on the Statoil Stars Over Texas Stage, including the singing competition, Rodeo Rockstar! The stage also hosts daily, family-friendly performances and concerts.

The fun continues with several interactive exhibits, including Fun on the Farm and AGventure. Fun on the Farm, presented by TDECU, teaches children the farm-to–market process in a playful environment. Families also have the opportunity to see the miracle of animals giving birth in AGventure, presented by Oxy, as well as learn about bees, horticulture, cattle breeds and rabbits.

In addition to the numerous activities on the grounds, visitors can see the best rodeo athletes perform every night inside NRG Stadium. RodeoHouston® invites the top athletes in the world to compete in bareback riding, barrel racing, bull riding, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, team roping and tie-down roping. RodeoHouston features two different types of competitions — the Super Series format and a one-day Super Shootout event — with both totaling a purse of more than $2.17 million. In the Super Series, each event champion takes home at least $50,000 after winning the 19-day, bracket-style format. On the final day of the Show, the RodeoHouston Super Shootout®: North America’s Champions presented by Crown Royal, features champion contestants from the eight best rodeos in North America competing for the event champion title and the chance to walk away with at least $25,000.

Once the dust settles from the wild rides, NRG Stadium transforms into a world-class concert venue, with the biggest names in music performing to record-breaking crowds.
