Much like the “Letters from Santa” we’ve ordered in years past, today websites offer both letters and videos with personalized photos and information unique to your child ….for FREE.
An HFM reader posted a premium video which he purchased (so he could download it and save it) , and we were blown away by the high-quality production value for his $12.99 purchase! The names and photos of his children were intertwined in the video message, and he swears his 10-year-old was on the verge of “not believing” until he saw the video from Santa this weekend! The premium version is longer and includes more personal information and photos.
So, we put the FREEBIE at Elfi.com to the test. It took less than 5 minutes. No registration or credit card required. We just kept clicking the tab for “free version.” We uploaded our photo, listened to the test pronunciation of the name and gave them our email address. That’s it. It arrived in our inbox in less than five minutes.
Even a cynical 15-year-old was impressed by her personalized video greeting from Mr. Claus. She couldn’t believe her photo appeared when Santa opened his book! The link in the email for the free version expires in 24 hours, and it cannot be downloaded. But, all in all, it was a GREAT experience!
We can only imagine the wonder and awestruck of a preschool child watching something like this. They even offer versions for teenagers, adults and co-workers! Give it a try! (BTW, each site limits your number of free videos. For Elfi, it’s five).
