Gabe-and-Coach-685x913

An 8 year old boy with Down Syndrome had the play of the day and season for Rhinelander High School.

On the last game of the season, the coach of the Hodags allowed 8 year old Gabe White, who is the teams honorary captain and also has an older brother on the team, to suit up and play a special “5th quarter.”

The opposing team was confused at first when they saw the boy on the field and then their coach told them to “run the kickoff and don’t tackle him.”

Not only did they not tackle him but they all pretended to try to tackle Gabe as he scored one of the most memorable touchdowns the crowd has and will ever see.
