Frohzen, a Miami-based ice cream shop created by Martone, The Bastion Collection’s Executive Pastry Chef, has an outpost in Houston located at 5500 Main St. within Cafe Leonelli at MFAH offering homemade ice cream, signature popsicles and ice cream sandwiches, all of which are as visually stunning as they are delicious.
Chef Martone, The Bastion Collection’s Executive Pastry Chef, is known for his boundless creativity, sense of whimsy, and use of innovative techniques. He has garnered numerous accolades throughout his career, including winning the 3rd Annual StarChefs.com International Pastry Competition in 2012, being named one of the Top 10 Pastry Chefs in America by Dessert Professional in 2015, receiving a James Beard Award nomination for Best Pastry Chef in 2015, and most recently, winning the “Sugary Showpieces” competition on Chopped Sweets on the Food Network in September 2020.
New to Houston this summer, the Frohzen outpost at Cafe Leonelli offers the classics reimagined, including ice cream sandwiches rolled in sprinkles or fruity pebbles, beautiful popsicles (the yellow Mango, Passionfruit, Coconut popsicle is picture perfect for the summer), and homemade ice cream and sorbets.
