Houston Public Library Foundation hosted their first Houston Literary Awards Gala on Oct 19th. The foundation honored 5 local authors (1 Lifetime Achievement Award & 4 Literary Awards) and 1 Readers’ Choice author from 5 additional authors. Reader’s choice winner went to Nkem DenChukwu!
Literary Award recipients: Katherine Center, Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni, Roger Leslie, PhD and Annetra Piper, PhD. Bapsi Sidhwa, was the Lifetime Achievement recipient.
This year’s Houston Literary Awards Gala raised funds for HPLF, which connects philanthropy to the Houston Public Library in support of life-changing programs.
