Send Off a Newly Married Couple in Style

Whether you’re part of an engaged couple currently planning your romantic nuptials or the family
members or friends of the happy duo, you may be keen to ensure that an upcoming wedding
reception ends memorably. You can do this by arranging for an engaging, elegant, or fun send-off for
the bride and groom.

While the send-off may not be at the top of the list when it
comes to planning a wedding, with things like the venue,
decorations, invitations, clothing, and food to consider, it
certainly is something worth considering carefully and
putting some planning into. You might like to choose one of the following ideas when the time
comes.

Have Guests Build and Then Throw Paper Planes

A novel idea you might like to consider is getting your guests to have fun designing, folding, and then
flying paper airplanes in your direction as you leave. During the wedding reception, ask attendees to
write a message on a piece of paper and then fold it up so it’s ready to fly for the send-off at the end
of the night.

Ask a close family member or friend to collect these planes for you after they fall during your exit,
and you can then read them as a couple on your honeymoon or once you return. You’ll surely want
to hold on to the planes as a sweet memento of the special occasion.

Set Off Fireworks

If you love fireworks, why not use your wedding send-off as the perfect chance to get some released
into the sky? A fireworks display is a beautiful way to cap off an evening and will have all your guests
oohing and ahhing and help you remember your exit forever.

or go to your local store or other fireworks supplier to stock up on products. If your budget is limited, you could stick with a
more subdued display by buying a few packs of sparklers and giving one to each of your guests to
hold up and wave about as you depart your wedding.

Set Up a Special Song

Music always creates a mood and can be another great way to set the tone for a wedding send-off.
You probably already have songs prepared for the ceremony and reception, but it’s worth putting
time into deciding on a meaningful song that can play as you say goodbye to your guests and leave
your wedding.

You could have the entertainer you’ve hired to play at the reception perform the song or just put it
over the loudspeaker or use a portable speaker to get the sound you need. Either way, select a
special piece of music that means something to you and your partner, such as a song that played
when you met or during the proposal, or a tune with lyrics that relate to your relationship, etc.  Another exciting option is to bring that music to life with an experienced marching band, creating a powerful and memorable soundtrack for your send-off.

Schedule a Skywriting Message or an Air Show

Another option, if you have a significant budget available for the wedding, is scheduling a skywriting
message or an air show send-off on your big day. These ideas will obviously be options for daytime events rather than those that end late at night, so they can be the perfect solutions for weddings
that start in the morning.

If none of these ideas feel like the right fit for your wedding departure, consider other ones. For
instance, you could have a candlelit path set up to walk along as you leave the wedding venue or get
some doves released or bells rung as you exit. You might like to give attendees glow sticks or colorful
smoke bombs to create a fun exit vibe, or you could hand out bubble kits for people to blow into.

Other options include leaving in some type of unexpected transport, such as a hot air balloon, boat,
horse and carriage, or a spectacular car. Alternatively, light and release some eco-friendly paper
lanterns into the sky, toss artificial snow, set up a champagne spray, or get your guests involved in a
choreographed cheer.

Wedding exit ideas are plentiful, with something to suit all tastes and
budgets. See what feels right for you, and don’t be afraid to be
creative as you think about how you’d like to say goodbye to your
guests and head off into the night (or day) as a newly married couple.
